The “astronomy building” aims to optimize the sunlight: catching it when it is beneficial and shading it when it is harmful. The planning is based on astronomy measurements specifically made in the area. The measurement identifies the angles of the sun on the days of equinoxes (21st March and 21st September) so that the sunlight is used at its best. The part of the building that is in the shade is made of walls with limited openings, the part of the building in the sun has a horizontal system of shielded windows. This lets the light in only with a defined angle of sunlight in the cold period (21st September / 21st March) and in the warm period (21st March / 21st September) but only at the beginning and at the end of the day.
